Spices Description:
Our favorite way to eat here is to launch the meal with sushi, then head to a robust entrée, such as the Malaysian curry laksa, a soup-like dish composed of coconut milk, vermicelli, sliced meat and squares of fried tofu. Noodles dishes are fine, especially the chor koay teow, a Singaporean-Malaysian specialty made with flat rice noodles. But don't steer away from any of the pan-Asian offerings. Always fine-tuning its menu with interesting new takes on the standard Asian fare, the kitchen at this Cleveland Park eatery has created several dishes that should become stars on the menu. While we still recommend the curry laksa, the very hot "suicide" curry and the "big duck," the Korean barbecue ribs with kimchi, the Vietnamese-style caramelized chicken or pork, and the "rainbow" salad with mango, green papaya and cabbage are flavor-packed goodies. Also unique: the tofu fries, crispy and trimmed, resembling potatoes so closely you may be fooled. For dessert: green tea custard.
