Bullfeathers Description:
Only a block from the House of Representatives office buildings and the Republican National Committee Headquarters, the patio of Bullfeathers is a popular spot for people-watching-- if you can recognize lobbyists or Hill staffers drawn by the hearty meals. But the atmosphere is unassuming, and the bar attracts crowds much younger and more casual than the power lunch set. Group-friendly and across the street from the Capitol South Metro.
When Teddy Roosevelt was hungry he'd grumble, Oh, bullfeathers! Hence the theme and name of this well-frequented eatery on Capitol Hill. Lobbyists, senators, representatives, and lifetime civil servants can be seen chowing down on great burgers while the televisions at the bar stay tuned to CNN and C-Span for the latest-breaking news. If burgers don't interest, you'll find plenty of salads, fish, soups and other offerings to satisfy your appetite as you eavesdrop on some of the most well-informed conversation in the country.
