African Kitchen features West African and international cuisine with a house specialty of entrees popular in Gambia. Bakary Jammeh is the co-owner and head chef of this African restaurant and they offer guidance and samples if you are unsure about Gambian dishes. The decor is colorful and focuses on west African culture, even in the table and window coverings. The restaurant is noted for their pepper soup. They also offer the more traditional soul / southern American style entrees. Most entrees are reasonable priced and well under $10. Located in a strip shopping center around a mile west of I-75 on 7 Mile Rd. and East of Woodward Ave. From I-75, exit at Nine Mile Road heading west then turn left on Woodward and right on Seven Mile.
