Accessible only from the eastbound lanes on Manchester Road, chef Tom Hsu's restaurant draws followers from his previous locations as well as those who have no idea who he is, but have heard the restaurant is one of the best places in the area for Chinese food. And that's saying something, because St. Louis doesn't lack for authentic Chinese food. What sets his cuisine apart are the little ingredients---sesame and black bean sauce, garlic and chile pepper---well utilized whether they're with eggplant, noodles, seafood or flank steak. The menu, as you might expect, is extensive, and many dishes can be customized to whatever spiciness you prefer. But it's also worthwhile to inquire about off-the-menu dishes.
