Table 6 Description:
Chef-driven cuisine and big wine list. Neighborhood restaurant feel. Open kitchen, lots of brickwork. Casual and relaxed.
Remember your favorite childhood dish? A cheeseburger? Barbecue? Alphabet soup? Well...they've grown up a bit but are still available at Table 6. Try the steak and fries with blue cheese butter, the messy-good pork ribs with purple coleslaw or the alphabet soup made with chicken consommé, confit and caramelized mirepoix. Daily specials are written on a large chalkboard that hangs above the copper-trimmed bar, separating the open kitchen from the small dining room. Don't skip dessert---hot, miniature beignets that reveal molten chocolate. A lounge area to the left of the main entrance features a communal bar that seats 15 (usually folks sipping wine while waiting for a table). The 80-plus-bottle wine list, overseen by master sommelier Aaron Forman, is one of the best---and most eclectic---in Denver, trumpeting all small production vineyards and more than a dozen pours by the glass. There's also a beautifully crafted reserve list called the Wine Book. The Sunday brunch is popular with industry types, many of whom show up in their pajamas.
