India's Restaurant Description:
In business for more than a decade, India's serves authentic Indian cuisine in an unassuming, comfortable and colorful room accented with red cloth napkins and black lacquer chairs. Quiet sitar music plays in the background. We usually start with samosas (fried pastries full of a pea and potato mixture), onion fritters and a basket of pappadum to dunk into the sweet tamarind or hot mint chutney. We recommend murgh mussallum (a spicy chicken curry) and gosht saag (lamb cooked in spinach sauce), and there's also a wide variety of vegetarian dishes. When we're having trouble deciding, we choose the vaishnav thali, a traditional vegetarian platter with a variety of vegetable curries, lentils, rice and roti (bread). Go for any of the curry dishes and note that some are fiery hot. The always-crowded lunch buffet is a good time to taste several items on the menu. Desserts include a creamy rice pudding, mango sherbet and, if you've saved room, cinnamon bread pudding. Nearly all of the wines also are offered by the glass. Service is efficient. Children are given a special menu and treated like small adults.
