Denver Chop House and Brewery Description:
Few places in Denver's restaurant scene cook like the Chophouse. This restored train depot---one of the swankiest retro-rooms in town---stays filled with loyal customers who can't get enough meat, potatoes and beer. Thick cuts of beef are the stars of the menu, from top-quality Kansas City strips to filets, rib-eyes and more. There are also pork chops and wood-grilled slabs of fish, most of which arrive with white cheddar mashed potatoes that have become something of a D-town classic. The bar jams with singles, genuine and wannabe upper-crusters and teams of local and visiting pro athletes who savor the in-house beers. Brewmaster Kevin Marley's wide range of beers includes a crisp and hoppy pale ale and a massive stout. His cask-conditioned beers are some of the best in Denver, and we especially like the bourbon-barrel-aged stout. Arrive early to beat the usual elbow-to-elbow crowds that flock here during baseball season and on weekends.
