Red Pheasant Inn Description:
The Red Pheasant is one of Cape Cod's most historic restaurants. Housed in a meticulously restored 200-year-old red barn, the restaurant was opened in 1977 by restaurateur Bill Atwood. Today Bill Atwood, Jr. runs the kitchen, but little else has changed in the restaurant over the years. The Red Pheasant's menu is classic Cape, with highlights such as scallop chowder, duckling with cranberry port sauce and pan-seared salmon and mussels. We recommend the daily changing game special and, to start, the country-style pork terrine. The wine list is a highlight. A book full of reds, whites and bubblies offers a voyage of selections from around the world. Impressively, wines are served in the appropriately shaped Riedel glassware. In a region in which glassware choice is traditionally dictated by style, this bit of wine professionalism is a welcome change.
