Both native Texans and newcomers who stop in at Taquerias Arandas find classic Tex-Mex, authentic Mex and Nuevo-Mex all happily coexisting at bargain prices. Tacos are served Mexican-style in soft corn tortillas or in crispy shells, the quintessential Tex-Mex way. We like the sincronizadas, soft corn tacos stuffed with ham, cheese and refried beans. Quesadillas with pork are a spicy, gooey delight, and the #1 Special Enchiladas---moist tortillas filled with your choice of meat with strips of napoles, avocado and beans---are old-school-meets-new at its finest. The pechuga de pollo marinada unleashes a juicy chicken breast plated with Mexican rice, refried beans, fresh avocado and a crisp salad. The only true disappointment is the gordita, which came off tough and tasteless.
