Sevy's Grill Description:
Sevy's Grill features steaks, seafood, pastas, and daily specials all from a wood burning grill. Located at Preston and Northwest Hwy.
Chef Jim Severson wears golf shoes to work every day, and co-owner Jimmy Fell, who runs the front of the house, would as well, were it not for the fact that he's afraid of slipping. The two take off every Tuesday to hit the greens and give out golf tees instead of matches at the restaurant. These guys may love golf, but their commitment to their restaurant is serious. The menu changes seasonally, but several entrées stand out in our memories: roasted portobello mushrooms and goat cheese; salmon straddling horseradish mashed potatoes; Peking-style rotisserie duck with Chinese pancakes and plum sauce; and smoked beef tenderloin accompanied by fried onions. At lunch, try the Caesar salad and the grilled Cuban-style pork, ham and Swiss sandwich. While we're enamored with the butter pecan cheesecake, the single best thing we've had in our meals here is a side dish of truffle-laced mashed potatoes.
