Palomino Euro Bistro Description:
It's hard to know where to look first in this striking restaurant, thanks to its imported woods and marbles, colorful Matisse-style paintings, art-glass chandeliers and 42-foot-long bar that's an ideal people-watching perch during happy hour. The menu changes seasonally, but if the cream of portobello mushroom soup is a special, go for it. Ditto the artichoke-and-crab dip appetizer. If you have a bigger appetite, order the New York steak accented with herbs de Provence butter, Gorgonzola sauce, cracked black pepper, extra virgin olive oil and a side of pomme frites. Palomino also makes a nice lunch destination, with plenty of salads, pastas---try the Mediterranean penne---sandwiches and wood-fired pizzas. Desserts are worth a caloric detour, too; we're especially fond of the bread pudding with pears and raisins, served with ice cream.
