Sutra Lounge Description:
Sutra is not only one of the area's hottest clubs, but the food is seriously good here, too. The updated décor creates more of a modern space with black leather banquettes, low sofas, a professional stage, a killer sound system and TV screens everywhere. Longtime chef Dustin Houston has departed; however, his refined comfort food stays on the menu, making Sutra a good place to eat dinner early and then enjoy the music and dancing. Start with a strong cocktail and the Kobe beef sliders with brioche bun, Gorgonzola sauce, caramelized shallots and truffle fries. Seafood fans may opt for the refreshing ceviche done two ways (marinated ahi and tiger prawns). We also recommend the caprese salad and the spinach salad with goat cheese and sun-dried tomato vinaigrette. The small plate entrées are worth the reasonable price. Standouts include the Chilean sea bass with roasted Japanese eggplant, miso-saké marinade and crunchy risotto ball. The New York steak is cut in strips, rubbed in crushed fennel seeds and served with pearl onions, sun-dried tomatoes, portobellos and a spicy red wine demi-glace. For dessert, try the warm and gooey chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream and chocolate-covered strawberries.
