Splash Restaurant & Bar Description:
Water has the power to calm and to soothe but also to re-energize. At Splash Restaurant & Bar, the sweeping views of Long Island Sound are the perfect backdrop for a dining experience that is likewise nurturing and restorative. On steamy summer eves, diners vie for tables on the outdoor deck and patio, but with the fireplace glowing and the views equally lovely, winter is a cozy time for a visit. The appetizers, like most of the menu at Splash, consist of traditional dishes prepared with a twist, like the crab and rock shrimp cakes, a reinvention of the classic crab cake. The poblano chili, sweet corn and green onion vinaigrette sauce give the dish a sweet, sour and spicy kick. For an entrée, try the Chilean sea bass baked in a banana leaf Southeast Asian-style, with a coconut rice cake and glazed carrot accompaniment. The lemon and herb crusted ahi steak is served with spicy wasabi potato spring rolls and a tart citrus salsa. Dessert selections have included a coconut-lemon grass, vanilla and chocolate crème brûlée trio and a chocolate lava cake with fresh berries and vanilla ice cream.
