Overlooking the waterfront in Stratford, Mare Bello blends well with the serenity of the sea, with its bright and airy dining room that is both elegant and subtly appointed. White tablecloths grace the simple dark wood-grain tables while ample windows afford a generous view of the sea beyond. The well-conceived Northern Italian menu offers appetizers such as the medaglioni all aragosta, medallions of lobster in a Grand Marnier sauce, the rich sauce complementing the natural flavors of the lobster. We also recommend the light pollo alla fino entrée, chicken, garlic shrimp, shiitake mushrooms and asparagus drizzled with lemon.
