Cambridge Brew House Description:
The kitchen frequently stumbles, the service isn't quite up to par, and yet, like flies to the tacky paper, they come. Maybe that's due to the extensive list of house-brewed craft beers (it is a pub, after all). Or the very comfortable space (it is a pub, after all). Maybe it's the jovial, family-friendly air (sure, it's a pub---the type of pub in which the kids are welcome). The menu's mostly meat-and-potatoes, with salads and sandwiches along for the ride. We're content with a pint of Three Steve Stout and a half rack of barbecue ribs---OK, two pints and a full rack---but the fish 'n' chips doesn't disappoint either, since the beer in the batter is house-brewed. But we wonder how a flank steak purportedly marinated for days in stout could be so tough and dry. Order wisely, and you'll eat well enough; otherwise, it's hard to go wrong with a multi-course meal of beer.
