Murphy and Scarletti's Pasta Grill and Bar Description:
It might sound like the set-up to an old joke, but thanks to the lifelong friendship between the owners, the Irish-styled bar and the Italian-themed kitchen at Murphy & Scarletti's manage to get along famously. Located in The Exchange, a retail and office complex across the street from the UConn Medical Center, this lively hangout attracts med students, doctors and other professionals who crave a laid-back change of pace after a rigorous day. Hearty pub grub is, of course, in abundance---with loads of starters, salads and sandwiches to choose from---but we tend to head in the direction of the decidedly Italian entrées, such as the cheese tortellini in rich tomato cream sauce. Over 25 toppings are available for the brick oven-baked pizzas, though we recommend the signature white goat-cheese pie topped with grilled chicken, fresh tomato and spinach.
