Atmosphere: Ambient, Low Light, Attempting to be a high class establishment in a former Burger King location.
Wild Ginger is conventional in many respects. With its rice-paper-screened windows, potted plants and lacquered rosewood tables and chairs, it possesses all the trappings of a hibachi grill. It also offers its share of traditional Japanese dishes. But in its more creative Asian Fusion preparations and presentations, the restaurant distinguishes itself. The Bonsai roll---tuna, salmon, yellowtail and crab wrapped in cucumber with avocado and accompanied by ponzu sauce---is particularly well-prepared in its yin-yang of sweet and sour. Pan-seared Chilean sea bass---browned to outer crispness and inner moistness---with tangy orange miso is a flavorful original. Teriyaki gets an unexpected zing from red wine, while lobster salad adds oomph to a salmon roll. In short, after a little perusing, you'll be glad you didn't judge Wild Ginger by its cover.
