Columbus Brewing Company Description:
Cameron-Mitchell restaurant located on-site at the Columbus Brewing Company with same name. Lunch reservations for large parties, dinner reservations for any size party. Columbus anti-smoking regulations are in effect, however may change at next election.
Columbus Brewing is about the only part of the Cameron Mitchell empire that hasn't been cloned at one time or another. It's a shame---it remains their hidden jewel in the still underdeveloped part of downtown's Brewery District. The décor is imaginative and lively with galvanized steel, tile and other contemporary materials. The on-premises brewpub operation turns out excellent beer, and the menu---which is sprinkled with barbecued and Cajun items---has enough traditional American items to satisfy a die-hard. A nice touch is pairing main dishes on the menu with the company's beers. For example, the Low country shrimp and grits---jumbo shrimp, andouille sausage, caramelized onions and Creole butter---is a good match with the pale ale.
