Oskar Blues Grill & Brew Description:
For visitors to this tiny mountain hamlet west of Boulder, Oskar has been the man to see if you crave the Cajun food, the blues and a good beer chaser. But in the past if you craved a locally made beer with your three-chord healing music you had to head elsewhere to find that combo. Not anymore, since owner Dale Katechis and brewmaster Craig Englehorn started brewing it themselves. Townies and Rocky Mountain National Park drive-by visitors couldn't be happier. The house makes a tasty quintet of beers including the deliciously hopped Dale's Pale Ale. Other hit makers are Reverend Sandi's Sinful Stout, One Nut Brown Ale and a dreamy Dubbel Trouble Belgian-style ale. Tasteful players on the menu are mostly of Louisiana origin---jambalaya, shrimp Creole, crawfish pie and other Crescent City favorites. There are also pans of thin-crust pizza, sandwiches and jumbo wraps and many meatless options for vegetarians.
