This ambient Chinese eatery done up in bold red hues and dark woods offers an encyclopedic menu that ranges from hearty noodle bowls and Peking duck to moo shu pork and sesame chicken. The kitchen doesn't use MSG, relying instead on garlic, ginger and hot chili peppers for seasoning. Try the baked New Zealand mussels, pork ravioli in soy-ginger sauce and any of the full-flavored soups, including a piquant hot-and-sour. The wine list is limited to a few familiar standards, but there's a full bar and an imaginative selection of umbrella drinks. Service is brisk and efficient at lunch; dinner is more relaxed. The adjacent gift shop, chock-a-block with gifts and knickknacks, is worth perusing.
