Tucked into an unassuming shopping strip on a busy road buzzing with college students, Contempo Cuisine is mostly a catering establishment, which is to say it isn't always open. But when it is, it offers up some of the best kosher food in Cleveland. Inside, linen-topped tables, china and crystal---and a kosher wine list---make this dinner destination nice enough to bring kosher-keeping friends and business associates. Appetizers include a tender phyllo roll with spinach, mushroom and tomato-basil sauce, stuffed portobello mushrooms and chicken Wellington in a red wine demi-glace. Pasta, beef, veal and seafood are all available with simple, inventive preparations. Try the whiskey peppercorn steak or the sun-dried tomato and garlic-crusted chicken served in a tomato basil sauce. Gourmet cakes and pastries are made in-house and are equal parts decadent and tasty.
