Sushi Rock Description:
Smack in the center of Cleveland's busy Warehouse District, Sushi Rock---with its loud music, dim lights and contemporary nosh---is the place to see and be seen. Illuminated, wall-size cityscapes, a red, curved sushi bar and black-clad servers set the tone for this hip downtown haunt. The menu is loaded with options for land and sea lovers. Start with either the calamari or the namesake shrimp. Both are served in a wash of sweet-hot Thai-style sauce. The California, spicy tuna and shrimp tempura rolls are all equally tasty, if not a little expected. The Big Rock rolls are a sight to behold. They come in rolls and towers, stacks and curves, mounds and clusters. Our favorite is the Pretty Woman: smoked salmon, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese and kiwi. But beware: the Big Rock rolls are fully packed, rendering them two- or three-bites instead of one. Not in the mood for sushi? Try the bone-in chicken breast or the ten-ounce filet mignon, but ask for the sauce on the side and be sure to specify your desired preparation on the steak. For dessert, the oh-so-refreshing green tea ice cream is a must.
