Sergio's in University Circle Description:
Sergio Abramof's tiny kingdom in Cleveland's University Circle has changed its focus slightly from Brazilian to Mediterranean, but odds are you'll enjoy the trip. In any case, eating here is a tantalizing experience. Abramof's passion for flavor is evident in everything from the charming finger-food-esque appetizers---button mushrooms sautéed in garlic, lemon and parsley; baby Spanish sausages with sheep's milk cheese---to the big, bold entrées. Linguine aglio e olio brings together pan-seared shrimp, julienne Swiss chard and diced tomato lightly tossed in garlic and olive oil; San Francisco cioppino served with a French baguette is an option as well. Pastas, beef and poultry also are presented dressed in a variety of colorful, flavorful sauces and sides. Though the restaurant's real estate is quite small, the few tables seem neighborly and not crowded. The restaurant's attractive tropical garden patio was designed by a local landscaping guru, and the lovely setting draws sun-starved northeast Ohioans to linger over caipirinhas and mojitos.
