Dewey's Pizza Description:
Located in the heart of Cleveland Heights' Cedar Lee Business District---a two-block stretch of eateries and galleries---Dewey's offers a bright, kid-friendly setting that also appeals to adult sensibilities. The modern, industrial environs and friendly service are a good fit for this neighborhood full of young families and coffeehouse types. Pizzas can be ordered right off the menu (we like the Billy Goat and the Ryan's Inferno). Diners are welcome to create their own pies, too. Using Dewey's traditional red or white sauce as a base, there are nearly 20 "regular" toppings (mushrooms, pepperoni, anchovies, bacon) and 15 "gourmet" toppings (Amish chicken, prosciutto, feta cheese, pine nuts) from which to choose. Salads include the house version comprised of field greens and romaine with pine nuts, goat cheese and dried cranberries. Calzones also are available in the make-your-own style. A short but well-edited beer list and a brief wine selection bumps Dewey's up from clever pizza joint to legitimate dining destination. Desserts are from a local confectioner.
