Truffles Pastry Shop Description:
When Truffles first opened in the 1980s---before coffeehouses became trendy---it was considered more of a small pastry shop that happened to serve coffee. Today, it is both a destination for coffee drinkers and one of Cleveland's premier gourmet bakeries. Elegant cookies, sumptuous chocolate creations and enormous fruit tarts fill the display case. Truffles is almost as renowned for its dazzling curbside flower display as for its desserts; in warm months, customers can sit outside and enjoy the blooms close-up. It's also one of very few places to go for a bite late on weekend nights on this side of town: the kitchen stays open until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday and until midnight on Sunday.
