Authentic Sternwheeler

The Magnolia Bell is a true sternwheeler, driven solely by the power of its paddlewheel. This American riverboat was first named the Border Star on the Ohio River then the Bonnie Belle out of Madison, Indiana. Later named the Northern Star then the Arawanna Belle, both ported in Toledo, Ohio; the Cocoa Belle in Cocoa Beach, Florida; and now the Magnolia Belle is ported on New Orleans' Northshore in Louisiana.

The days of Southern Belles, Mint Juleps and gracious southern living can be revisited aboard the Magnolia Belle, named after the state flower of Louisiana and Mississippi. The Belle was originally designed to be a steam-driven packetboat (a passenger-carrying riverboat), and has been featured in the 1993 Disney film "The Adventures of Huck Finn."

The Magnolia Belle travels to various ports on the northshore and southshore of Lake Pontchartrain. Tall Stacks 2006 will be the first appearance for the Magnolia Belle.
