Bootsy's Description:
The latest hot-spot to take over a former downtown Pizzeria Uno is a tribute to funk legend Bootsy Collins. It definitely succeeds in the "funky" category (think Morocco meets Miami). It's shiny and colorful and full of distractions, from the décor to the music and the menu. You can order an entire suckling pig (72 hours notice required), have sushi or graze on Spanish-style tapas. Our favorite small plate is the ropa vieja (made here from pulled Cuban short ribs and served on a tiny corn cake). All in all, though, tapas are disappointing. Case in point: overpriced fried potato wedges and hush puppy-like ham croquettes. By contrast, some of the best dishes---like halibut with clams, mussels, olive oil and chorizo---are not small plates at all. From simple, sugary churros to delicately rolled chocolate cake, desserts (with the exception of soggy milk cake) actually are the best part of the meal.
