Tuckers Restaurant Description:
Let's face it: on the outside, Tucker's Restaurant is not much to look at. It's in a transitional neighborhood, where suburbanites don't always like to wander. And it may even be a stretch to categorize it as a place for a "quick bite" when the turnover rate at booths can last longer than a lunch hour. But there's good reason to seek out a seat at the often-crowded Tucker's. Since 1946, it has made a name for itself as a better-than-decent diner. Not much inside has changed since then. It still has tiny booths and a small grill, where a short-order cook cranks out grub. It's still family owned, and Carla Tucker---one of the owners---is quick to recommend her own chicken salad. Come for the massive omelets, serious BLTs and memorable vegetarian take on huevos rancheros. Plus, the fact that it's hard to even spend $10 here on a meal makes it a no-frills fixture that's worth checking out.
