Public parking is conveniently located one block north at Clark and LaSalle streets (enter on Stockton Drive).

For information regarding which "el" lines stop near the museum, please call (312) 836-7000. If you are traveling by bus, CTA routes 11, 22, 36, 72, 151 and 156 stop near the museum.

General Rules:

Due to the sensitive nature of the museums collections, the facility is kept at approximately 70 degrees farenheit and 50 % humidity. Visitors are encouraged to check their outer garments in the societys checkroom free of charge. Large bags and cases must be checked. Photography and video taping is allowed in the societys permanent galleries only.




Driving direction to Chicago Historical Society:
The museum can be reached by taking I-90/94 to the North Av. exit and proceeding east approximately two miles to Clark St. It can also be reached via Lake Shore Dr. Exit at the North Av./LaSalle St. exit and proceed south 2 blocks on Clark St.
