Reasonably priced underground parking is available at the East Monroe Street Garage, Millennium Park Garage, and the Grant Park North and South Garages.

General Rules:

A Check room is located at the Michigan Avenue lobby. There is a $1.00 charge per item for checking service. Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries and cannot be checked.


Please note: The Art Institute of Chicago reserves the right to discontinue checking of any item at any time.

The following items must be checked before entering the galleries:
Any parcel, purse, bag, or tote over 13 by 17 inches
Video cameras
Backpacks
Backpack baby carriers
Long Umbrellas
Briefcases

Photography of loan exhibitions is not permitted. Still photography of works in the permanent collection is permitted, however NO tripods, lights, flash bulbs or video equipment will be allowed.

Recording Devices are not permitted.


Driving direction to The Art Institute of Chicago:
The Art Institute is 2 blocks West of Lake Shore Drive (US 41).
From Lake Shore Drive exit at Monroe or Jackson Boulevard.

The museum can also be easily reached from I-90/94 or 290.
