Kanok Restaurant Description:
Plenty of pan-Asian spots dot the landscape and do it well; this Boystown eatery is another to add to the mix. The cute, colorful storefront---with Mid-Century-style seats at the sushi bar---serves an interesting selection of maki and main courses. We enjoy the complex tropical roll with tuna, yellowtail, cilantro, cream cheese, spicy mayo, avocado, green onion, jalapeño and tempura crumb topping as well as the steamed halibut with Thai chili-lime sauce. All the basics are on hand for purists, but we tend to steer clear of the ho-hum gyoza. If you're looking to save cash, the lunch boxes, bowls and bentos are tops.
