Chef Michael Taus is no stranger to fine dining (his River North restaurant Zealous has garnered praise for years). But at Duchamp, Taus partnered with the guys from swank nightspot Lumen to create a cozy Bucktown joint with food that's destined to lure regulars. But just because the décor is laid-back---long communal tables, simple stemware---that doesn't mean that Taus has forgotten his CIA training. Take the mini braised duck rillettes---a rustic mix of meat atop thin slices of toasted baguette---for example. The Asian-flavored hot wings are another topnotch small plate option. Even the burger feels the culinary love with its special mix of high-end meat from a fancy butcher, served on a house-made brioche bun. The creativity spills over to the cocktail list, while the reasonably priced wine and beer list makes seating at the tiny bar scarce.
