The owners of upscale Menagerie transformed this small space into a beer-lover's paradise with a nice selection of Belgian brews and a way-beyond-average bar menu. Soft lighting keeps things cozy, and the eats get a decidedly upscale (some would say smart) twist. Duck confit mac 'n' cheese and Mexicali-steeped PEI mussels start things off. Upscale pizzas---like the truffled mushroom variety---further the theme. But it's the four-day barbecue that warms us from the inside out. Nightly deals (think half-price burgers with sides on Tuesdays) threaten to make this a regular after-work haunt for those living in the neighborhood. An extremely friendly staff furthers the appeal.
