Since 1909, this has been the place for carry-out pizza (but there are tables if you care to eat in) and a few other Italian delights. Big thick squares of bready pizza---open-face, stuffed or regular---with toppings that go from anchovy to zucchini and back again, are tasty. The line (at high-noon there is always a line) moves fast as the pizza gets crisp in the oven. As an alternative, try a sandwich---the pepper-and-egg and the potato-and-egg are terrific. There are numerous other locations throughout the city and suburbs.
