The freshest of creations are churned out at this bright, casual Northside spot, where meals begin with pickled vegetables brought by kimono-clad servers. The menu holds all the Japanese standards: spicy tuna maki, udon soup, teriyaki beef and sukiyaki. There are enough specialty maki selections (and standards) to please, and they're plated in fun fashion. The handful of tatami rooms is good for small groups, but they fill up early. Potentially problematic service can spoil the mood.
