Seasonal and creative changes, though subtle, are an important part of the culinary mix here. It might be wood-grilled Alaskan sockeye salmon with baby green beans, prosciutto, shallots and green tomato jam. A few weeks later, sturgeon might appear with oven-roasted-garlic-and-olive tapenade. Meat eaters, on the other hand, can luxuriate in the comfort of wood-grilled flank steak with chipotle barbecue sauce or a (dynamite) burger with hand-cut fries and homemade pickles. The farmer's market pies are always sweet-tooth-worthy, but then again so are the fruit crisps when served warm with ice cream. In all, this is a restaurant with appealing American food that doesn't paint the plate red, white and blue. Service has its moments, but in all it gets the job done. The wine list is corked with selections from a number of boutique wineries.
