Lynne Wallack's noisy converted grocery store has long drawn a faithful neighborhood crowd for globally inspired food that's simultaneously homey and upscale. Openers range from veggie spring rolls with sweet-sour dipping sauce to salmon poke with grapes, arugula and fried wontons. Braised short ribs are glazed with sweet plum reduction. Amish chicken gets zapped with Greek spices and arrives alongside an Egyptian rice cake. Intriguing cobblers are among the house-made desserts. The international wine list is as affordable as the menu, which also has a handful of pastas.
