Longman & Eagle Description:
Sure, this Logan Square restaurant-lounge attracts more than its fair share of hipsters---if you have a plaid shirt, skinny black jeans and nerdy glasses, wear them---but this isn't just a see-and-be-scene spot. A lot of thought went into the shabby-chic décor---be sure to head to the back room to check out the sculpture installation---the handcrafted cocktails, whiskey list and the menu. And that same attention to detail is what makes dishes---such as potted duck rillettes and smoked sweetbreads with fava beans, piquillo peppers, oil-cured black olives and rouille---so good. Chef Jared Wentworth isn't afraid to get playful: wild boar Sloppy Joes, anyone? At the same time, he has the culinary chops to pull off dishes like braised veal breast with butter-poached radish. Our only complaint? They don't take reservations, and its "it" status won't let up anytime soon.
