Olive Garden Description:
One must applaud this chain restaurant's dedication to bringing the art of eating Italian to the public. Their decor of stucco walls, beamed ceilings, terra cotta floors, is formula, but still pleasant. Indeed, the atmosphere, like their extensive advertising, gives a feeling of abundance and good cheer. The wines are low priced, and many of their dishes may not be our idea of standard antipasti, but the public keeps coming for fried offerings like zucchini, mozzarella, raviolis and chicken fingers. The hot artichoke spinach dip has become a yuppie hors d'oeuvre. From the extensive menu, that includes seafood and steaks as well, you can do alright with a lasagna or linguini marinara, or make your own breadstick pizza. Cheesecake or tiramisu for dessert---you know the drill.
