As the flagship restaurant that launched multiple locations in New Jersey, Delaware and Pennsylvania, Caffè Aldo Lamberti is dependably good, no matter what the occasion. Start with a selection from the pristine raw bar, or the grilled portobello, topped with crab meat and a rich Gorgonzola, or try the mozzarella sticks made with a smoked version of the wonderfully stringy cheese. Or go for one of the house-made pastas such as the fusilli puttanesca with olives, capers and anchovies or the gnocchi with onions, peas and prosciutto. The seafood is a house specialty, especially the grilled ahi served on a bed of spaghetti with garlic and oil and the whole fish simply grilled with olive oil and balsamic vinegar. There's a nice wine list that is best enjoyed on the outdoor terrace when the weather is fine and bottles are half price on Sunday. Tiramisu is first-rate.
