Bill Spoon's Barbecue Description:
People go to Bill Spoon's Barbecue for the whole hog (head and feet excepted). Rich pulled pork gets just the right boost from a touch of the classic Eastern Carolina-style sauce, which means the sauce has no tomato, but instead is composed solely of vinegar and pepper. Sides of hush puppies, traditional in North Carolina with 'cue, beans and yellow mustard slaw make a complete meal, but don't skip the barbecued potatoes, either. Classics such as Brunswick stew and the required banana pudding (get there before it all goes) round out the menu. Founder Bill Spoon has passed on, but his grandson, Steve, serves as pit master, continuing the tradition.
