Sunset Cafe Incorporated Description:
Though this Inman Square long-timer has a sterile look, the kitchen doesn't turn out bland food to match. Never mind the American lunch menu; come for the traditionally hearty, often salty Portuguese dinner fare: steaming bowls of garlic soup, stewed favas with spicy linguiça and shellfish galore, as in the classic carne alentejana---pork and clams with fried potatoes. On weekend nights, fado (folk) musicians perform, and the room is packed with families from the local Iberian community. Like the décor, the spotty wine list could use some sprucing up---many listed bottles are not available.
