L.A. Burdick Chocolate Description:
Named for the talented, Swiss-trained chocolatier Larry Burdick, this tiny Cambridge boîte is one of Harvard Square's most sought-after hangouts. The Brattle Street outpost of Burdicks' New Hampshire empire, narrow and sepia-toned, casts a European light on its tweedy, quietly conversing customers. The hot chocolate is decadent, a blend of cream and fresh shaved chocolate, as are the many Viennese-style pastries and, of course, the samplers of truffles and other chocolate frippery. No wonder vacant seats are as much a luxury as the dainties.
