Kotobukiya Description:
The sushi counter arm of Boston's most prominent Japanese market, Kotobukiya is frequented by Japanese expats of all ages and those who are smart enough to follow them to lunch. If you're fleet on your feet, you'll be able to grab a spot at the sushi bar without a wait. From there you can nod at the sushi chef, check off your desires on an order form (English is scarce here), and watch as you're meal is cut, shaped, patted, and placed before you---with a nod back. We can't say that this is the city's best sushi, but we can say that we love the show and have never had a bad meal here. Charmingly located in a cluster of eateries inside the Porter Exchange mini-mall better known as Little Tokyo.
