Bergamot Cafe Description:
Our average client has 28.6 minutes for lunch (clocked). We recognize the value of your time, and subsequently provide an environment and product that consistently raises the mundane standards of the lunch "hour." For most lunch-bound professionals, the bulk of their time in consumed traveling and waiting in line for a hastily prepared meal that, on occasion, just passes for good.
Come in and discover the experience you deserve.
Bergamot Station was originally a Red Car depot, part of the 1,000-mile Pacific Electric Railway system that had its heyday in the 1920s. (Believe it or not, L.A. was once a model for mass transit!) Today, the complex contains over 30 art galleries, the Santa Monica Art Museum, shops and this convenient little eatery. In the morning, Bergamot Café serves breakfasts and La Brea Bakery pastries. The lunch menu involves salads, sandwiches and homemade soups, including daily-changing specials. We like the wasabi-tuna melt, shrimp quesadilla and massive chocolate chunk cookie that pairs nicely with a well-executed latte. The café's tiny interior is filled with modern art and corrugated metal-topped tables, matching the building's exterior, and a patio sprawls beneath a broad blue awning.
