The Waterfront Grill Description:
The setting is one of the great assets of Chuck's Waterfront Grill. Located right on Santa Barbara's lovely harbor, it offers enviable views of the boats, the ocean and the local mountains. Seating on the outdoor patio features linen-covered tables and Hawaiian music piped from behind the bushes. Indoors, the scene pays tribute to the local fishing industry with a large net used by fishermen in the 1930s hanging from the ceiling; but the overall décor emphasizes plush couches and dark woods. The dinner menu balances seafood, most of it reeled in on local boats, and quality meats. We love the seared ahi, crusted with sesame seeds, served rare and drizzled with a spicy wasabi sauce. We are also big fans of the steaks, all USDA Prime, from filet mignon to sirloin. And there are several surf 'n' turf options, all hearty portions, like New York steak paired with butter-soft seared scallops. One of the tastiest items on the menu is the secret-recipe teriyaki rice that comes with pretty much every order. It is also famous for its clam chowder. Mud pie is a must for dessert. The wine and spirits list is impressive. But keep in mind that the same beachy attitude that makes for a relaxing dining environment can lead to overly casual service from the young waitstaff.
