Paradise Café Description:
When the sun shines, this is where chic Santa Barbara wants to lunch, under the umbrella tables, behind the green hedge. For years this was an old-time Mexican restaurant. Then some young guys spruced it up, but kept the nostalgic ambience and the original architecture. The food, though, is strictly American: chili, perhaps the best burgers in town, trademark black bean soup, seafood, and oak-grilled chops and steak. The indoor lower level was transformed into one of the town's most happening bars for the young crowd.
