Sol Food Description:
San Rafael native Sol Hernandez opened the tiny café Sol Food to offer the food of her father---Puerto Rican criolla cooking. The menu is small and reasonably priced and offers everything from chicken with beans and rice to vegan selections. For pollo al horno, three pieces of boneless free-range chicken thigh are marinated in garlic and oregano and baked, then served with generous portions of rice and red beans, organic salad and two pieces of either fried green or yellow plantains for less than ten dollars.
