The glass-enclosed Hanna's is a key destination on San Rafael's West End, located on a corner surrounded by trees. Owner Hanna Anki serves both Middle Eastern dishes as well as Italian pastas and entrées. Try the mezze plate featuring creamy baba ghanouj, warm ful madames (mashed fava beans with oil and garlic), hummus (topped with sizzling pine nuts) and falafel. The fattoush salad is a mélange of toasted pita bread wedges, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber and feta napped with a mint-red wine vinaigrette. For entrées, try the chicken or lamb kebab dishes, both served with fluffy saffron rice and a spear of undercooked broccoli. Skip dessert.
