Rotten City Pizza Description:
The name of this East Bay pizza joint references Emeryville's disreputable past as the "rottenest city on the Pacific Coast." Nine different thin-crust, New York-style pies (also available by the slice) are topped with high-quality ingredients---Gaeta olives, roasted creminis, salt-cured anchovies, daily salumi, arugula pesto---upping prices that locals and nearby office workers are happy to pay. Sauces and cheeses are fresh, proportions and flavors are pleasing and consistent. Counter service only with a handful of stools; delivery available (though pricey). There are two non-pizza items on the menu: a slow-roasted meatball Parm sub, and a good Caesar salad.
